Im doing a d1.1 test plate. My speedglas helmet made all the difference in the outcome due to the clarity in wich I can see the puddle.

I used a speedglas helmet my whole time serving in the army and my entire time I was depolyed to Iraq and I still use the same helmet to day its worked flawlessly for over 8 years just had to change the batteries thanks speedglas.
